Course description

This course aims to provide students with a perspective on how psychology studies issues related to human behavior, cognition, and emotions. Throughout the course, different subfields of psychology will be introduced, including developmental, social, cognitive, and clinical.

At the end of this course, students will gain insight into topics such as how psychology deals with different questions, how some basic psychological processes occur, and how they affect human behavior. Learning, memory, emotions and perception, social relations, and psychological disorders are some of the topics that will be covered.

Muaz Özcan Research Assistant
Muaz Özcan is a doctoral candidate in the Social / Organizational Psychology track at the Koç University Graduate School of Social Sciences & Humanities. He completed his undergraduate education at the İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University as the top-ranked student among 2016 graduates of the Psychology Department. He taught several undergraduate courses as a part-time lecturer at Koç University and is currently a research assistant. His scientific interests include why, how, and under what conditions individuals perceive others and themselves as leaders. He hopes his research will contribute to our better understanding of the factors associated with the unequal representation of certain groups in leadership roles and positions and how we solve such issues in the future.
