Creative Thinking in Design

This course is an introduction to the concepts of design thinking, creative thinking in design, and an overview of the holistic design process. In this course, students will explore fictional dystopian scenarios, each one presenting unique challenges for humanity. Through group exercises, students will develop personas, empathize with the struggles of these personas, and use various ideation techniques to address the challenges of these dystopian worlds. To increase their immersion, we will be using various tools, such as AI image generators, user-journey mapping, and ideation methods. Ultimately, the course aims to prepare the students to be productive in ideation and visualization of ideas, getting and giving critiques for design presentations, and iterating based on feedback collected.
