Hande Özlem Atar
Research Assistant - Psychology

Hande Özlem Atar is a PhD student in Cognitive Psychology at Koç University Social Sciences Institute. She graduated from MEF University in 2020 as a high honor student in Psychology. She graduated from Koç University in 2022 with a degree in Cognitive Psychology and started her doctoral studies there. In her master’s thesis, she studied people’s moral judgments and emotional reactions (e.g. anger and disgust) to rule violations during the Covid-19 pandemic. His research areas include moral decision-making and judgments, moral emotions, social cognition, adaptive behavior and identity.

Buket Yüksel
Lecturer - Department of Computer Engineering

Buket Yüksel is a Python instructor at Koç University. She has more than 10 years of experience in Python programming language and used it on her research during her Ph.D as well. She has been teaching UNIV199 (Python) and various Computer Engineering courses for 4 years. Her current research is about Object Tracking using Deep Learning. Her research interests include Neural Networks and Reinforcement learning.

Cem Veziroğlu
Dr. Öğretim Üyesi - Hukuk Fakültesi​

Cem Veziroğlu, Koç Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde ticaret hukuku alanında yardımcı doçent olarak görev yapmaktadır. Aynı zamanda UNESCO Toplumsal Cinsiyet Eşitliği ve Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Kürsüsü’nde bağlı akademisyen, Hukuk Okulları Küresel Ligi Çevre Düzenleme Araştırma Grubu üyesi ve NASAMER Hukuk Blogu’nun baş editörü olarak görev yapmaktadır. Galatasaray Üniversitesi’nden mezun olduktan sonra Oxford Üniversitesi’nden Magister Juris ünvanını, İstanbul Üniversitesi’nden ise doktora derecesini aldı. AB, Dünya Bankası ve British Council tarafından finanse edilen çeşitli uluslararası projelere katkıda bulundu. Araştırma alanları arasında şirketler hukuku, tahkim hukuku, sürdürülebilirlik ve iş hukuku yer almaktadır.

Yiğit Sayın
Dr. Öğretim Üyesi - Hukuk Fakültesi

Yiğit Sayın, lisans derecesini 1998 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nden, LLM derecesini ise 2001 yılında Warwick Üniversitesi’nden ‘Uluslararası Ekonomi Hukuku’ alanında almıştır. Birkaç yıl avukatlık ve hukuk müşavirliği yaptıktan sonra 2003 yılında önce İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde ‘özel hukuk’ alanında doktora eğitimine başladı, ardından da İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’ne araştırma görevlisi olarak katıldı. 2009 yılında özel hukuk alanında doktorasını tamamlayarak Koç Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde yardımcı doçent olarak göreve başladı. Yiğit Sayın’ın çalışmaları genel olarak ‘Roma Hukuku’ ve özel olarak da ‘Kölelik hukuku’ üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Kendisi, yurt içi ve yurt dışında, Roma Hukuku, Avukatlık Hukuku, Hukuk Tarihi, Uluslararası İşlemlerin Hukuki Yönleri, Uluslararası Ticaret Hukuku, Hukuk & Teknoloji ve Hukuk Felsefesi alanlarında lisans ve lisansüstü düzeyinde dersler vermiştir. Yiğit Sayın ayrıca SIHDA (Société Internationale Fernand De Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité) üyesidir.

Furkan Doğan
Lecturer - Economics and Administrative Sciences

Furkan Doğan graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics in 2017. Later, in the same year, he started his master’s degree in the Department of Economics at Sabancı University and completed his thesis on Matching Theory in 2020. Currently, he is continuing his PhD program at Koç University Department of Economics under the supervision of Associate Professor Özgür Yılmaz. He continues his studies on Matching Theory and Market Design.

Samet Ağca
Research Assistant - Science Faculty

He completed his undergraduate degree with honors in Molecular Biology and Genetics, and a double major in Chemistry at Koç University in 2020. During his undergraduate studies, he actively taught Science classes to middle school students through the Koç University Volunteer Education Community. He then joined Dr. Serkan Kır’s Metabolism and Cancer laboratory at Koç University as a doctoral student for his graduate studies. The studies he contributed to in the early years of his doctoral program were published in the “Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle” and “Nature” journals. He is currently actively working on tumor-induced changes in the single nucleus transcriptome of atrophying muscles.

Ceyda Oğuz
Prof. Dr. - Engineering Faculty

Ceyda Oğuz is Professor of Industrial Engineering in College of Engineering at Koç University, İstanbul, Türkiye. Before joining Koç University, she was a faculty member in the School of Business at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, from 1993 to 2004. Prof. Oğuz conducts research in the areas of bioinformatics, logistics, and scheduling in manufacturing and computer systems, with an emphasis on sustainability. Her expertise includes algorithm design and system modeling as well as providing optimizing and/or approximate solutions to the complex systems by means of computational methods. Prof. Oğuz has participated in several research projects, which were funded by TUBITAK and jointly by the Hong Kong and the European governments, related to above fields. She has published in refereed journals such as Operations Research, Journal of Scheduling, Computers and Operations Research, and European Journal of Operational Research. Prof. Oğuz acts as the associate editor of Journal of Scheduling. She was a plenary speaker at “Yöneylem Araştırması ve Endüstri Mühendisliği (YA/EM) 42. Ulusal Kongresi” in 2023 and was a keynote speaker on “Computational Biology and Operations Research” at EURO XXV – 25th European Conference on Operational Research in 2012. She took part in founding the “EURO Working Group on the Operational Research in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics and Medicine” (EURO-CBBM) and acts as the secretary and the treasurer of the group since 2006.
