Course Description

In this course, we will explore the particle-wave duality and other aspects of quantum mechanics through a series of engaging experiments. These experiments include the double-slit experiment, electron diffraction, quantum tunnelling with microwave optics, and the photoelectric effect. By the end of the course, students will gain a fundamental understanding of quantum mechanics and its applications in modern technology. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of wave-particle duality and its implications in quantum mechanics, as well as critical thinking skills through the analysis of interference patterns. By the end of the second week, students will have a deeper insight into the wave nature of electrons and their practical applications, along with an understanding of quantum tunnelling and its significance in modern technology. Through exploration of the photoelectric effect and its explanation using quantum theory, students will develop an appreciation for the foundational principles of quantum mechanics and their impact on various technological advancements in the modern world.
